Mr. Sandman

I adore this scene from Fred & Ginger's Top Hat (1938). Of all the times Laura watched that movie when we were little - this one scene got me every time, where, to make up, Fred sprinkles sand all over the floor of his room (right above Ginger's) and taps a slow, soft Sandman lullaby. It's so sweet! He doesn't mind the mess or the ashtray sand (eewww!). And Ginger is sooo happy in her silky, fluffy nest of a bed (and nightie)! Now that's the way to go to sleep...
